Date: September 19, 2014 to September 23, 2014
Location: New York, NY

On Sunday, September 21, tens of thousands of people will converge in New York City for the People’s Climate March, which is being billed as the largest climate march in history. In the days before the march, and especially on Saturday, September 20, other organizations will be holding all sorts of related rallies, teach-ins, and other events on climate change. Sign up for the main march, and check out related events organized by people to democratize the climate justice and environmental justice movements and lift up the voices, needs, and rights of people of color, women, low-income people, and other highly impacted communities. These events include:

  • The Our Power Campaign invites you to take direct action for climate justice and to build “Just Transition pathways away from the ‘dig, burn, dump’ economy, and towards ‘local, living economies’ where communities and workers are in charge!” Our Power is organizing a full week of activities in New York City and in solidarity actions around the country, including a two-day People’s Climate Justice Summit in New York.
  • The Free University of New York is holding an all-day teach-in on September 20 called “*Decolonizing Climate Justice* Free University.”
  • Women’s Earth & Climate Action Network (WE CAN) will release the Women’s Climate Action Agenda on their website on September 9, will March September 21, and will host events September 22 and 23 in conjunction with Our Power and other allies.
