Craig Holdrege, Ph.D., is co-founder and director of The Nature Institute in Ghent, NY, which is dedicated to research and educational activities applying phenomenological, contextual methods (natureinstitute.org). An educator and biologist, he studies and teaches about whole-organism biology. He also critically examines scientific thinking and new developments in the biological sciences such as genetic engineering and synthetic biology. He is deeply concerned about the impact of technology on the development of the human being. His most recent book is Thinking Like a Plant: A Living Science for Life (2013, Lindisfarne Books).
